MDS ]
MDS (Multifunction Dosing System) is a programmable device particularly suited for dosing.

Function/mode settings
Press PROGR to enter the programming mode. The current function is visualized by the rightmost LED display and
can be modified by pressing MODE.
Press UP to confirm the selected function.
Functions available
- MODE 1: press UP or DOWN to increase/decrease predetermined dose. Press PROGR to confirm. For faster scrolling of quantity to predetermine, press and hold down UP or DOWN for a few seconds.
- MODE 2: inbound-pulse correction on a decimal basis. Range: 0 ÷ 999.
- MODE 3: dosed quantity displayed. Press UP and DOWN simultaneously to reset.
- MODE 4: flow-rate meter and liters-per-minute display.
- MODE 5: inbound-pulse correction (percent). Range 00.00 ÷ 99.99.
- MODE 6: inbound-pulse duration settings (0 – 20 ms).
- MODE 7: Dosing time setting (0 – 65.000 ms). Dosing can be interrupted after a predetermined time span the user can set up.
- ”START” FUNCTION: after setting amount to dose and pulse correction, press MARCIA (”START”) to start dosing. The two relays controlling the electrovalve and the pump respectively are thus activated, at a short interval from one another. Countdown of liters dosed is displayed. When dosing is completed both relays are deactivated. (On demand, a version of MDS is available with timed relays to have the pump to stop first and the electrovalve after 1 second.).
- PAUSE FUNCTION: press PAUSE to stop the dosing. To resume, press MARCIA (”START”) once again: the dosing will be resumed from the amount totalized prior to the stop.
- EMERGENCY STOP FUNCTION: press ARRESTO (”STOP”) to terminate the dosing process. Both relays are deactivated. This is an emergency only button.
- ALARM FUNCTION
- FLOW STOP FUNCTION: the dosing process is interrupted if system has not been receiving any pulse signal for 15 seconds (both relays are deactivated).
- OUTBOUND SIGNALS: there are two outlets:
- Power supply for a 24 V AC (300 mA) electrovalve (450 mA on demand)
- NA voltage-free contact suited for controlling a triphase contactor or a 220 V AC (400 W) monophase pump.
- POWER FAILURE: the MDS is fitted with a built-in memory to save all data in case of power failure. When power supply is resumed, dosing will be resumed from the amount totalized prior to its interruption.
- POWER SUPPLY: 220 V AC – 1 A (24 V AC on demand).
- INBOUND PULSE INLET: the MDS is fitted for receiving pulse transmitted from voltage-free or NPN contact. The NPN version is also available. It is also possible to let out corrected pulses via an auxiliary static port (open-collector transistor).
- OPERATION TEMPERATURE: max 50°C.
- SHIELDING: watertight box with protection factor IP56.
